Walk east from the North Sea surf at Bovbjerg and you will cross 174 kilometres of Jutland — heath, moraine, market towns, motorway — before the land simply stops. It stops at Fornæs, a low cape at the outer end of the Djursland peninsula, a few kilometres north-east of Grenaa. This is the easternmost point of Jutland, which is to say the easternmost point of the Danish mainland, and standing on it there is nothing ahead but the Kattegat and, a long way beyond the horizon, Sweden. Somebody has been keeping a light burning here since 1839.]]></description>
